The Russell Township municipal pool will open on July 10, 2020!

Only 10 bathers at a time will be permitted in the pool. A strict protocol will be in place to ensure the safety of all.

New this year: Pool users will have to reserve their swimming time before coming to the pool at the following link. To receive assistance with your reservation, you can call the Russell Centennial Pool (613-445-1921). A lifeguard will be happy to help you.

Information on online reservations:

1. Visit the Eventbrite website to book your swimming time;
2. Until further notice, you will be able to register for up to two one-hour periods per day. If there are still spots available two hours before the swimming time, it will be possible to reserve more than two periods;
3. The fee will be payable once you arrive at the pool. Seasons pass will also be available on the site;
4. Upon arrival at the pool, bring proof of the reservation.

Prevention Measures:

Here are important prevention measures you most follow at the pool:

1. Wash your hands before entering the water;
2. Practice physical distancing and avoid gatherings;
3. Keeping surfaces and objects clean. Do not share your objects;
4. If you bring your chairs and pool toys from home, only people who live at the same address as you can use them;
5. Spitting, coughing, urinating and blowing your nose is forbidden in the pool;
6. Snorkels are not allowed and masks that hide the nose are not recommended.

These collective public health measures aim to contain and prevent widespread of the COVID-19 virus in our community. Anyone who does not apply these measures will be asked to leave the premises. The health and safety of swimmers and lifeguards remains our priority!

Important changes related to COVID-19:
  • Stay home if you are sick, have symptoms related to COVID-19, have been in contact with someone who is sick, or if your temperature exceeds 38.7 °C or 100 °F;
  • Upon arrival, wait in line at the designated location outside the fences. A lifeguard will welcome you;
  • Changing rooms and toilets will be closed to the public. It is suggested to arrive and leave the pool in a bathing suit. Portable washrooms are available on site;
  • People who are at higher rick (65 years of age and over) are recommended not to got to the pool.

Summer Program Guide

In-person registrations

Thursday July 9 from 4 to 7:30 pm at Town Hall (717 Notre Dame, Embrun). Wearing a mask is mandatory for the entry into the building.
If you cannot make it to this evening, you will have the chance to register in person directly at the pool.

Update June 29, 2020 - The pool remains closed at this time. An opening date will be shared with the community in the next few days. Also, an in-person registration night will be announced once we have a fixed opening date.

Update June 12, 2020
- We plan to open the municipal pool. The official opening date will be announced in the coming days. Online registrations will be reopened from June 15 to 25, 2020. We are also planning for an in-person registration night for swimming lessons only, since registration for semi-private and private lessons are not available online. Update May 13, 2020 - The in-person registrations evenings are cancelled. Once we have more information regarding offering an in-person registration evening, we will share it on our website and social media. We thank you for your understanding.
