This service develops the Emergency Intervention Plan for the township. This plan helps us prepare and plan for any extraordinary emergency situations; situations that would surpass the ordinary intervention. For example, below please find a list of public welfare emergencies that could occur within our township:

- Explosion / Blast fire
- Snow storm / Ice storm
- Tornado / Hurricane

Planning for a Safer Community...
Ms. Millie Bourdeau is the Township of Russell's Community Emergency Management Coordinator and as such is the Township's link with Emergency Management Ontario during an emergency.
The CEMC is responsible for all aspects of emergency management in the Township. Beginning with the creation of an Emergency Planning Committee, Ms. Bourdeau has overseen the initial development of the Township's emergency plan.
Ongoing projects include training the Community Control Group, developing and leading an annual emergency response exercise, conducting public awareness campaigns, an annual review of the plan and continuing the expansion of the plan to meet EMO requirements.
