Ontario’s New Blue Box Regulation

Starting July 1, 2023, eligible communities in Ontario will begin transitioning their Blue Box programs to the new extended producer responsibility (EPR) framework under the Blue Box Regulation. During the transition, Stewardship Ontario will continue to administer the program on behalf of stewards, and residents will not see any disruption in the Blue Box services provided by their municipalities.

Never Park in a Fire Route

A reminder from Russell Township to park responsibly. Never park in a fire route. Parking in a fire route can put people at risk as it can delay emergency responders and restrict access to properties during an emergency. Fire routes must be kept clear at all times.

Our Public Safety and Enforcement Officers are actively enforcing this and have been issuing numerous parking infractions in the past few days for vehicles parked in fire routes. The fine for parking in a fire route is $75.
