Invitation to Meet Me on Main Street

We invite you to participate in the Meet Me on Main Street event Thursday August 1st, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This year’s event will take place at 901, Notre-Dame Street in Embrun, at the start of the recreational trail and on a portion of Blais Street. The Township of Russell is organizing this event where the community will gather in the street and support local businesses and organizations.

GoHere Washroom Access Program

The Township of Russell has joined the GoHere Washroom Access Program. City Hall, the Sports Dome and the Russell Public Library now proudly share this decal at their entrance showing that washroom facilities are available for use, no questions asked.

- When: Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 7:00a.m. to Friday, June 21, 2024 at 5:00p.m.
- Where: St-Andre Road from 62m South of Perras Drive to 116m South of Perras Drive
- Why: Bridge rehabilitation, emergency access only.
- Please follow signs for the detour on Notre-Dame Street and Route 400.

With the expected high temperatures coming in the next few days, the Township of Russell will have daytime cooling centers to provide relief from the heat to residents in need on Tuesday June 18th, Wednesday June 19th and Thursday June 20th, 2024.

We received 60 photographs during the submission process, and the Township staff had a difficult time narrowing it down to the top 10. Blais Street is Getting a New Look

Green areas have been painted on Blais Street in Embrun to identify areas that could be zones of conflict for recreational trail users and vehicles. This is a visual reminder for both parties to be alert when going through those shared areas.
This is a safety measure approved at Council.

At the Regular Council Meeting held on May 27th, 2024, Council, had the distinct privilege of recognizing Lynne Perras and Daniel St Pierre with Citizen Recognition Awards for their courage during the April 22, 2024, bus accident.

Do you have sticks, branches, or other yard waste to get rid of? The Leaf and Yard Waste Collection is June 3 to 7!
Important Change:This year collection is now done on your REGULAR pickup day (during the 3 waste collection weeks).
✔️ Yard waste must in paper bags or in reusable containers and placed by the curbside before 7:00a.m.
✔️ Bundle and tie branches.
✔️ Length of branches should not exceed 4 feet and 2 inches in diameter.
🚫 Plastic bags will not be collected.
