Expression of Interest: Host a Learn to Connect Workshop
What is Learn to Connect?
After a year of social and physical distancing due to COVID-19, the feeling of connection within the community has changed. We want to help rebuild those community connections.
Do you have a skill, passion, or hobby you could share with others? Learn to Connect is an initiative for you to provide a free workshop in your area of interest to other members in the community.
- Any resident, business, or organization can volunteer to run a workshop through Learn to Connect.
- You can offer one single workshop or multiple workshops.
- There is no requirement to be a professional.
- Workshop topics can range from board games, to finances, meditation, and more.
The launch of these free community-based workshops is aimed for late 2021 or early 2022, pending received expression of interest, COVID-19 restrictions, and Council approval.
How to Submit Your Expression of Interest
All local residents, business, or associations and community groups interested in offering a free workshop, or a series of free workshops as part of Learn to Connect are requested to respond in writing to info@russell.ca with the following information by July 18, 2021:
- Your name (or group name);
- Contact information (email and telephone);
- What workshop/workshops you would offer;
- When you could begin your workshop/workshops (September 2021, December 2021, March 2022);
- Frequency of your workshop/workshops (for example, one-time, once a week for 6 weeks, once a month for three months, etc.);
- Dates and times you are available to host a workshop/workshops;
- How many persons could attend your workshop/workshops (3, 5, 10, etc.);
- Language of your workshop (English, French, bilingual in English and French, or other);
- What supplies you would require to host your workshop/workshops;
- If you could provide a criminal records check, should your workshop be confirmed and approved within the initiative by Council;
- Any other details you would like to provide.
The intention of this expression of interest is to determine local interest in offering a workshop as part of the Learn to Connect initiative. A response to this EOI may help us plan the initiative, but is not a formal commitment.
