Become a Junior Firefighter

Russell Township Fire Services would like to announce a great opportunity for young people in Russell Township. We are looking for 3 people who would like to work with fire personnel at the Russell Fair this year. Candidates would assist in giving presentations to the public using the Fire Safety Trailer and the Grease Fire prop. Please see the following information, we look forward to including you as part of our team.

Russell Township Fire Services is asking residents between the age of 10-17 if they would like to apply to assist us during this year's Russell Fair. We are looking for 3 people to help us during the 2024 Fair.

One person on;

• Friday, Aug 16/24 - 10:00am to 2:00pm
• Saturday, Aug 17/24 - 10:00am to 2:00pm
• Sunday, Aug 18/24 - 10:00am to 2:00pm.

The candidates will be asked to assist firefighters giving the presentations on fire safety during the fair. Preparatory information and training will be provided to the candidates prior to the event so they are fully prepared and comfortable.

The candidates will be given a Russell Township Fire Services T-Shirt and hat to wear while presenting. We will also have the candidates attend a minimum of one of our regular training events so they feel part of the team. Proficiency in English, French or bilingual is required. In the event that multiple candidates apply, interviews will determine the final roster.
