The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for 2 mature, motivated, and bilingual Counsellors and 1 Coordinator for the March Break Camp (March 16 to 20, 2026).

  • 2 Camp Counsellors 16+ years old.
  • 1 Camp Coordinator 18+ years old.

Language requirements:

Proficiency in understanding, and speaking both French and English.

Compensation:

  • Camp Counsellors: $17.98/hour
  • Camp Coordinator: $19.53/hour

Full-Time Program Assistant at St. Mother Teresa Daycare (Contractual)

Full-Time Program Assistant (Until August 2026)

Position overview and requirements:

The Program Assistant will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security, and their well-being.

  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check – Vulnerable sector (within 6 months);
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Work in cooperation within a strong team environment.

Language requirements:

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English. 

Compensation:

The salary, based on 40 hours a week, is set between $22.23/hour and $25.02/hour and includes a pension plan, and free access to the Sports Dome Training Centre.

Administrative Clerk

Position overview and requirements:

Under the direction of Municipal Clerk, this position is responsible for providing administrative support and various clerical tasks to the Clerk’s Office. The Administrative Clerk is the first point of contact for the Clerk’s Office and is mainly responsible for customer service, answering inquiries, commissioner of oaths (affidavits) services, lottery requests, marriage license applications, reviewing/acknowledging/responding to general inquiries in the department's generic email, assists with the electoral process and major recurring projects in the department (forms, data entry), internal requests, managing department invoices, filing documents on SharePoint, updating the Records Management System (physical and electronic) as per TOMRMS, including filing, scanning, drafting letters and reports, codifying invoices and other tasks.

  • Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years' experience in an administrative and/or customer service role
  • Post-secondary education in office or public administration and/or related field.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports within prescribed deadlines.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Teams and Sharepoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle complaints in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of appropriate material.
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.

Language requirements:

Compensation:

The salary is based on a 35-hour workweek and is set between $54,680 and $68,167 per year, and includes an excellent benefits package, a pension plan, and free access to the Sports Dome Training Centre.

Administrative Support/Firefighter

Position overview and requirements:

Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the Administrative Support/Firefighter is a member of the Fire Services management team and supports senior management on a wide variety of complex administrative duties and plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative tasks, scheduling, communication, and coordination within the Fire Services.

This position supports the day-to-day activities of the Fire Services team, and tasks include but are not limited to, creating correspondence, reports, memoranda, and minutes. This role has regular access to confidential and highly sensitive human resources and legal material. In addition, the Administrative Support/Firefighter will also be an operational firefighter responding to emergencies.

  • Completion of post secondary education with Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration or other related field AND a minimum of five (5) years in an administrative, customer service-related role or fire service;
  • Possess NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I and II, NFPA 1072 or 472 Operations level. OFM (Grandfathering) will be accepted in lieu of IFSAC/Pro Board seals;
  • Completion of NFPA 1035 Fire and Life Safety Educator Level I and Level II, and Ontario Fire Code Part 2 & 6 or commitment to obtaining certification within a specific timeframe;
  • NFPA 1002 Pump Ops Standard for Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications, Chapter 5 Apparatus Equipped with Fire Pump, and NFPA 1521 Incident Safety Officer, or commitment to obtaining certification within a specific timeframe;
  • NFPA 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications Level I and NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications Level I in order to obtain Team Lead Interior Attack qualification or commitment to obtaining certification within a specific timeframe. OFM (Grandfathering) will be accepted in lieu of IFSAC/Pro Board seals;
  • Ability to manage financial aspects of departmental projects- tracking and performing cost analysis;
  • Advanced ability to produce clear and concise reports within prescribed deadlines;
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, including fiscal & expenditure auditing and processing A/P an asset;
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to develop proficiency in other corporate solutions;
  • Possess and maintain, in good standing, a minimum Class “DZ” Licence;
  • Possess current First Responder BLS certificate;
  • Successfully complete Russell Township Firefighter Physical Testing and/or Candidate Physical Abilities Testing (CPAT).

Language requirements:

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in either French or English. Proficiency in the second official language is a strong asset.

Compensation:

The salary, based on 40 hours a week, is between $86,986 and $108,493 per year includes an excellent benefit package, a pension plan as well as free access to the gym at the Sports Dome Training Centre.
