2026 Summer Recruitment

The 2026 Summer Student Employment Recruitment is now open, and we will be accepting applications for the following positions from February 4 to March 16, 2026: 

Summer Student - Infrastructure Department - May 4 to August 28

Position overview and requirements:

Under the responsibility of the Public Works Supervisor, students will assist in a variety of laboring activities to maintain sidewalks, streets and roads and perform other related duties.

  • Must have a high School Diploma.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver's license.
  • Must have CSA approved work boots.
  • Requires some physical effort such as lifting, pulling and carrying.
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The salary based on 40 hours per week is fixed between $19.53 and $22.12 per hour.

Summer Student - Building and Construction Department - May 4 to August 28
Position overview and requirements:

Under the supervision of the Chief Building Official and the Building Permit Clerk, the incumbent will assist the Building and Construction Department by performing administrative duties and a range of clerical tasks.

  • High school diploma and working towards a college or university degree in administration an asset.
  • High school diploma with a college or university undergraduate studies in Architectural or Civil Engineering would be an asset.
  • Proficient with software and such as Microsoft Office 365;
  • Strong team play with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced multitasked environment, with limited supervision..
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The salary is $17.98 per hour and work hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Student Clerk - Corporate Services (Finance & Economic Development Support)
Position overview and requirements:

The Summer Student for Corporate Services will support the Township’s Corporate Services Department, with a primary focus on assisting both the Finance Division and the Economic Development Division. The role involves a variety of administrative, analytical, and project-related tasks. While the position includes occasional client service duties, mainly to provide lunch-hour coverage and replacement during staff absences, the principal responsibilities relate to supporting finance and economic development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 and enrollment in a college or university program.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide professional, customer-focused service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).

Compensation:

The salary is $17.98 per hour and work hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Russell Centennial Pool - June to August

Lifeguards/Instructors, 15 years or older

Requirements:

  • Have and provide all current aquatic certifications.
  • First aid, CPR C.
  • National Lifeguard Service (NLS) and all instructor certifications.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record (18 years or older).
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The Lifeguard/Instructor salary is fixed between $18.38 and $20.11 per hour.

The Assistant Supervisor salary is fixed between $19.53 and $22.12 per hour.

The Supervisor salary is fixed between $21.83 and $24.41 per hour.

Requirements:

  • Experience in office administration and/or customer service.
  • Knowledge of software and programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet.
  • Certification First Aid and CPR C.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record (18 years or older).
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The salary is fixed at $17.98 per hour.

Summer Camps

Assistant Program Coordinator - May to August

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older.
  • Certifications First aid and CPR C
  • Must provide a clear criminal record
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s license
  • Experience in summer camps would be an asset
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The salary is fixed between $20.68 and $23.26 per hour.

Daycare Summer Positions at St-Jean/La Croisée, Saint-Joseph, St Mother Teresa - June to August

Non-Graduate Educators

Graduate Educators

 

Requirements:

  • First Aid and CPR C.
  • Must provide a valid and Negative Criminal Record Check – Vulnerable sector (within 6 months for 18 years and older).
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The salary for Educators under 18 years old is $17.98 per hour.

The salary for Non-Graduate Educators (18 years or older) is fixed between $22.23 and $25.02 per hour.

The salary for Graduate Educators is fixed between $27.12 and $30.52 per hour.

Parks Attendants - May 4 to August 28

Requirements:
  • 16 years or older
  • Must have CSA approved work boots
  • Must provide a clear criminal record (18 years or older).
  • Driver’s License an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is $17.98 per hour.

Administrative Assistant – Infrastructure Department

Position overview and requirements:

The Infrastructure Department is currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual for the above-mentioned position.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Infrastructure Department, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Infrastructure Department, including writing, reviewing, and translating correspondence and reports, data entry, codification of invoices, and providing customer service, including the management of public complaints.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in an administrative role.
  • Post-secondary diploma in a general office administration program or a related field.
  • Writing skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-structured reports.
  • Solid experience in customer service demonstrating a great sense of professionalism and communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Strong organizational and priority management skills, enabling you to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Be available to attend committee meetings in the evening.

Language requirements:

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in both French and English.

Compensation:

The salary, based on 35 hours a week, is between $54,680 and $68,167 per year and includes an excellent benefit package, a pension plan, as well as free access to the Sports Dome Training Centre.

Registered Early Childhood Educators under the supervision of the Daycare Manager are responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
