Civil Engineer Technician

Position Overview and Requirements:

Under the direction of the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the Civil Engineer Technician is responsible for the review, inspection of all infrastructure permits and the coordination and implementation of the asset management. The Civil Engineer Technician will provide technical support to the Infrastructure Department and to any capital projects.

The Civil Engineer Technician will further lead the implementation of the Township’s Asset Management Program by maintaining accurate asset inventories, coordinating condition assessments and inspections, supporting lifecycle planning and risk management practices, and providing technical input to ensure the sustainable operation, maintenance, and long-term planning of municipal infrastructure.

Skills, Competencies and Knowledge:

  • Post-secondary education in civil engineering or other related field or a combination of experience that meets the requirements.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of civil/municipal engineering design and construction experience including storm and sanitary sewage collection, storm water management, road design and maintenance.
  • Knowledge in municipal government policies.
  • Knowledge in municipal procedures and operations.
  • Knowledge of municipal infrastructure, MOE design guidelines and OPSS.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems, find and implement solutions.
  • Ability to operate field levels and GPS station.
  • Able to effectively communicate with the public using discretion and tact.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Auto CAD.
  • Good Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work a flexible schedule according to the requirements of the position.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is an asset.

Language Requirements

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of either French or English. Proficiency in the second official language is a strong asset.

Compensation

The salary, based on 35 hours per week, is set between $76,113 and $94,932 per year and includes an excellent benefit package, a pension plan, as well as free access to the Sports Dome Training Centre.

Positions overview and requirements:

Registered Early Childhood Educators under the supervision of the Daycare Manager are responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check - Vulnerable sector (within six months);
  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the center, children, families and co-workers;
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Joseph and St. Jean/La Croisée);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $26.30/hour and $29.60/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).

Early Childhood Educators are responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security, and their well-being. 

  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check – Vulnerable sector (within 6 months);
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Work in cooperation within a strong team environment.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Jean/La Croisée and Saint Joseph);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $21.56/hour and $24.27/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).
