Finance Clerk (Extended to April 23, 2021)

Full-Time

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Deputy Treasurer, the candidate will provide financial support on matters related to operational expenses, capital expenditures and special projects. This position is also responsible for providing support to Finance Department such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, and reports related to financial statements and the annual budget. This position is also responsible for providing support with customer service at the reception of the Town Hall.

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

The candidate must possess:

  • One (1) and three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar position and/or a post-secondary education in finance or accounting
  • Knowledge in the use of various business and financial tools such as MS Office Suite, Great Plains and other related financial and data software
  • Ability to prioritize to meet job demands and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of both French and English.

COMPENSATION

The salary based on a 35 hours week is between $44,828 and $56,045 per year. The Township also offers an excellent benefit package as well as a benefit pension plan. A detailed job description is available upon request.

Building Permit Clerk

Full-Time, Permanent

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Planning, Building and Economic Development Director and the Chief Building Official, the candidate will be the primary point of contact for clients seeking information for Building permit and assist Building Officials with routine processing of building permit applications, building permits files, coordinating building inspection requests and inspection schedules, file maintenance and permit closures.

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

  • A post-secondary education in business or office administration, building sciences program or related program.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ municipal, administrative, construction or equivalent experience would be an asset.
  • On the job training will be provided.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Able to work efficiently under time restraints as well as communicate in a professional manner.

School Crossing Guards

Under the supervision of the Director of Public Safety and Enforcement, this position is responsible for the safety of school children at assigned street crossings for designated hours each day the schools are in session.

Primary Activities

  • Direct and maintain discipline among children going to or returning from school in crossing streets in assigned areas during designated hours.
  • Provide gaps in traffic to permit the crossing of school children at designated crossings.
  • Report vehicles failing to obey traffic regulations at school crossings.
  • Report accidents involving school children or vehicles in the vicinity of the school crossing areas to the proper authorities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Compensation

The compensation is fixed at $16 per crossing.

The Graduate Educator will be under the supervision of the Daycare Manager and will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;

  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;

  • Valid and Negative Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector (within six months);

  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;

  • Must be 18 years or older;

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French. English an asset.

COMPENSATION

The salary is fixed between $18.80 and $21.28 per hour.

Non-Graduate Educator Job Description
Non-Graduate Educator

The Non-Graduate Educator will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being.

  • Please include all current certification including first aid/C.P.R. and valid and Negative Criminal Record Check- Vulnerable Sector (within six months).

  • Candidates must be 18 years or older.

The salary is between $15.05 and $16.98 per hour.
