August 2025 Recreation Complex Update

Over the past few weeks, great progress has been made on the new recreation complex:

• Pool area: The walls of the new leisure pool have been poured, and crews are working on the pool’s piping systems.
• Arena building exterior: Masonry crews have finished the east and west facades of the rinks, as well as the north wall of the resurfacer area. Siding crews are now working behind the completed masonry.
• Structure: Structural steel has been installed in the pool change area. Roofing is nearly complete on the arenas, with work moving toward the resurfacer area.
• Arena interior: The exterior framing and boarding are finished around the arenas, including the mechanical areas. Concrete slabs have been poured inside all three arenas, with the final slab in Rink #3 almost ready for concrete placement.
• Mechanical and electrical systems: Rough-in work is ongoing throughout the building as the slab work progresses.
• Parking lot and site services: Stormwater and watermain work has advanced in the new parking lot and along the north and south ends of the site.
