Canadian Environment Week 2025

From June 1 to 7, 2025, we invite you to celebrate and safeguard our environment and take action to protect the places we love.

Established in 1971, Canadian Environment Week celebrates Canada’s environmental accomplishments and encourages Canadians to contribute to conserving and protecting their environment.

What you can do:

• Attend the next Environmental and Sustainability Advisory Committee Meeting and get involved with this committee. See the community calendar for future meeting dates.
• Take action to help restore our ecosystems, reduce plastic waste and pollution, and protect wildlife.
• Spend time in nature, explore our New York Central Recreational Trail, J. Henry Tweed Conservation Area, or any of our many parks.
• Involve kids with Earth School, offering daily adventures to understand and celebrate our environment or Earth Rangers, teaching kids how to become environmental leaders in their communities.
