Modification to the Calendar of Budget Meetings for Budget (Item 11d) |
Council approved a by-law to update the yearly calendar for budget meetings. The first budget working session will take place on October 23, 2025, with a second session on October 24, 2025, if needed. These sessions will happen two weeks after the presentation of the first draft of the budget. |
Embrun Rib Fest (Item 11e) |
Council approved the proposed road closure of Notre-Dame Street, between St-Jacques Road to Lapointe Boulevard, to hold the first Embrun Rib Fest on September 6, 2025, between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. |
Noise Exemption (Item 11f) |
Council approved a noise exemption request from June 13 to 15, 2025, at 8 Blais Street in Embrun to accommodate outside music events during the “Summerfest/Célébrons Ensemble 2025”. |
Urban Tree By-law (Item 11g) |
Council did not approve the by-law as it was presented. Staff were directed to revise the draft by removing the tree permit fee, including a policy for trees on Township property and proposing a more flexible approach. A revised version will be brought back to Council at a future meeting. |
Storm Sewer reconstruction on Notre-Dame Street (Item 11i) |
Council awarded the first contract to Coalwater Excavation. Construction is expected to begin at the end of June. Russell Station Trail and Eadie Park Phase 1 Construction Approval (Item 11l) |
Council has awarded the contract for Phase 1 of the Russell Station Trail and Eadie Park projects to Cornwall Gravel Company Limited. Phase 1 includes:

Parks and Recreation Department Master Plan 2025-2026 (Item 11m) |
Council has awarded a contract to Expedition Management Consulting Ltd. to help develop the 2025–2026 Parks and Recreation Master Plan revision. More information will be shared when the Master Plan is launched. |
Strategic Plan Progress Update and 2025 Business Plan Overview (Item 11n) |
Council received an update on the Township’s Strategic Plan, highlighting the progress achieved over the past year across all departments. The 2025 Business Plan was also presented, outlining key priorities and projects for the year ahead. We’re proud of the continued dedication of our staff and remain committed to delivering exceptional service to our growing community. |
Announcements |
Willie O’Ree Award Nomination Mackenzie is the founder and president of Next Shift Hockey, a non-profit organization that provides free hockey equipment to those in need. Now in its fourth year, the group has helped more than 1,000 players and 200 goalies continue playing without cost barriers. They also offer coaching support and health and fitness training.
This year, two winners will be selected—one in Canada and one in the U.S.—with each receiving a $25,000 donation to give to a charity of their choice and the remaining 4 nominees receiving $5,000. |
