Proclamation and Flag Raising Ceremony Request – Terry Fox Week 2026 (item 10a)
Russell Township proclaims the week of September 14 to September 18, 2026, as Terry Fox Week and that a flag-raising ceremony be held at the Townhall on September 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Proclamation - December 6 Day of Non-Violence in Prescott-Russell (item 10b)
The Township of Russell proclaims and declares December 6, 2025, as the Day of NON-VIOLENCE in Prescott-Russell; and invites all residents to mark this day by participating in vigils organized by the Prescott-Russell Coalition to End Violence Against Women, to take concrete action to support survivors, and to participate in Ontario-wide efforts to end gender-based violence.
Building Permits and Permit Fees (item 11f)
The Building and Construction Department of the Township of Russell will hold a public meeting on November 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the Gaston Patenaude Hall located at 717 Notre-Dame Street in Embrun in order to consider a proposed Building Permit Fee By-law under Section 7 of the Building Code Act. We will return to Council on December 8, 2025 with feedback and any modifications to the proposed Building By-law.
Rent Control Measures (item 15a)
The Council of Russell Township requests the Province of Ontario to re-introduce rent control measures that protect against excessive and unfair rent increases for rental units occupied for residential purposes while maintaining the ability of responsible landlords to operate a viable and sustainable business.
