Implementation of an Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) (Item 11d)
Council approved Report PIC-2025-15A introducing a new by-law and policies for an Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS). An AMPS is a municipal alternative to the provincial court system for handling by-law offences. It transfers parking and other by-law disputes from the courtroom to the municipality, making the process more efficient and streamlined for both the Municipality and individuals who receive tickets.
More information will be shared before the program launches later this fall.
