Dress Purple Day - October 16, 2025
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, we join Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario for Dress Purple Day — a day to recognize the many ways our community supports children, youth, and families.
Every child has the right to safety and well-being. This work can’t be done by one organization alone — it takes neighbours, families, schools, service providers, and community partners standing together.
Why It Matters
Dress Purple Day:
- Reminds children and youth of their right to be safe at home, school, online, and in the community.
- Encourages them to speak up if they feel unsafe.
- Highlights the community members and services ready to help.
- Affirms that safety includes respect for identity, culture, and diversity.
How You Can Help
- Wear purple on October 16 to show your support.
- Donate through the CanadaHelps page or to the Pathways to Provisions: Food and Care Corner.
- Share online using #DressPurpleDay and #IDressPurpleBecause.
- Be a caring neighbour — listen, encourage, and lend a hand.

On October 16, let’s remind children, youth, and families that they are surrounded by care, compassion, and support — today and every day.
