Exceptional Reversal of Late Fees – Water and Sewer Bills
Due to service interruptions at Canada Post, many residents did not receive their municipal service bill on time. Although the Township applies penalties as outlined in its by-law for any payment made after the due date, we are authorizing an exceptional reversal of late notice fees for this billing period. If you have already paid these penalties, a credit will be applied to your next bill.
In the coming weeks, we will submit an official procedure to Council to address this type of situation during future postal interruptions.
We would also like to remind all residents that it is their responsibility to ensure their bills are paid on time, even in the event of postal delays. The Township cannot be held responsible for Canada Post delays or strikes.
We also ask all residents to treat our staff with respect and consideration. Our employees are applying the by-laws and performing their duties, and inappropriate behaviour at Town Hall will not be tolerated.
