Fire Ban Reduced to Partial Fire Ban – August 29, 2025
More
Update: The Fire Ban has been reduced to a partial Fire Ban as of 8:30 a.m. August 29, 2025.
All burn permits are still on hold during this partial ban and no new burn permits will be issued.
With this partial Fire Ban, residents are permitted to light and maintain a campfire and use solid fuel burning appliances. Campfires are permitted and can be used for keeping warm, cooking food and for recreational enjoyment. As always, approved propane and natural gas BBQs and appliances with a shut-off valve are still permitted to be used.
A reminder that as per the Township’s open air burning by-law no person shall make a campfire that is:
- Larger that 0.5 cubic meter
- Not contained so as to prevent the spreading of the fire
- Causing a nuisance to neighbouring property due to smoke
- Causing a decrease in visibility on any highway or roadway due to smoke
- Closer than 4.5 meters from any side or rear lot line, from other combustible material, structure, brush or wooden area
- Within the portion of a yard that is the front or side yard
- Not supervised by a person of at least eighteen (18) years of age from the time of ignition until completely extinguished
Thank you for doing your part to keep our Township safe.
