National Public Works Week 2026
From May 17 to 23, 2026, the Township of Russell invites residents to learn more about the essential services provided by our Infrastructure Department team.
Public works are part of everyday life, but they often go unnoticed. This week, follow the Township on Facebook and Instagram to see photos of our crews at work. It is a great opportunity to learn what they do and to recognize their important role in keeping our community running.
This year’s theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” highlights the strong connection between public works and the people they serve. From maintaining roads and bridges to ensuring safe drinking water and reliable sewer systems, these services support daily life in ways we may not always see. Together, they help keep our Township safe, connected, and thriving.
Why Public Works Week Matters
Public works employees help keep water flowing to our homes, maintain safe roads, and respond to emergencies when they happen. Many work long hours and are on call to serve residents when it matters most.
National Public Works Week is a chance to recognize these dedicated workers who serve our community every day. If you see a member of our public works team this week, take a moment to say thank you.
