Some safety reminders while using the New York Central Recreational Trail this summer, and all year round!
Safety regulations
- Stop at all crossings until it is safe to cross. And activate pedestrian crossing signal if available.
- Keep right and pass on the left when the path is clear.
- Use a horn, bell or voice when signaling to pass others.
- Stand to the side of the trail if you stop.
Regulations for the respect of the trail and users
- Keep the trail clean: use the garbage cans for your waste.
- Keep the trail clean: pick up your dog's feces.
- Keep animals under control (dog on leash max 2.4m at all times).
- Do not use the trail between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Other regulations
- No gas or electric motorized devices/vehicles permitted (electric scooters except for mobility use, snowmobiles, four-wheelers, etc.)
- eBikes are only permitted on the trail if powered by muscular power.
- No horses allowed.
- No smoking, including electronic cigarettes.
The New York Central Recreational Trail is located between the villages of Embrun and Russell. The trail covers a total of 10 km between 901 Notre Dame Street, Embrun, and 290 Route 200, Russell.
