Have you taken some cool photos in the Township of Russell lately? We are prolonging the application period to this Friday, August 30th, 2024, at 11:59p.m. submit them for our Photo Expo. Anyone from Canada can enter this competition, however all images must have been taken within the Township of Russell boundaries.
We invite hobby, amateur, and professional photographers to submit their images for the 2024 Township of Russell Photo Expo! You can submit up to 5 photos. Every person who submits will have at least one of their artworks printed and exhibited during the Autumn in the Country Art Festival on September 14, 2024. This year, in addition to having their work displayed, the four selected photographers will each receive CARFAC fees of $400 in recognition of their artistic contributions. Additionally, the 4 winners and select honorable mention artists will receive a subscription to PhotoEd Magazine.
An independent jury will look at all the images submitted and select 4 winners that will be printed and displayed as outdoor public art in the Township!
Theme and Categories
This year’s theme is “Best Kept Secret.” Show us the weird, beloved or unique spaces in Russell Township that highlight the best in our region. What is it that you see in the people and spaces that make it so special to you. Consider what you want to share with the world, and what mysteries you might want to keep just for yourself.
The jury will decide winners for the following categories:
- Best Youth (18 and under)
- Best Portrait
- Best Landscape
- Best Overall
