Updated Official Plan
Have you ever wondered how decisions are made about new homes, businesses or parks in our community? The Township of Russell’s Official Plan helps guide those decisions. The finalized plan is now available online for residents to explore.
The Official Plan is the Municipality’s main planning document. It guides how our community will grow and how land can be used up to the year 2046. It helps make sure development happens in a way that supports a strong, healthy, and well-planned community.
The Plan covers:
- The villages of Embrun, Russell, and parts of Limoges and Marionville
- The 417 Industrial Park
The Official Plan sets direction for:
- Where new homes, businesses, schools, and parks can be built
- How roads, water, and wastewater services will grow
- How we protect natural areas, heritage, and water resources
- How we create complete and connected communities
It also provides the foundation for the Township’s Zoning By-law, which sets more detailed rules for land use and development.
This updated Plan reflects community input and local priorities, helping guide decisions about future growth and development.
Residents are encouraged to review the Official Plan to learn more about how it may affect their property and neighbourhood.
