Water Ban Still Active in Embrun
The Township of Russell is reminding residents that the water ban issued for Embrun in October remains in effect while repairs to the Embrun water tower are ongoing.
The water ban was put in place to ensure there is enough water in the system for essential household and firefighting needs. Until the repairs are complete, residents are asked to continue limiting water use.
The restriction applies to all residents of Embrun who are served by the Township of Russell’s water distribution system.
During this water ban, all outdoor use of water remains suspended and prohibited, including:
- Watering lawns, either manually or with automatic sprinklers, and pressure washing driveways;
- Filling or adding water to a hot tub, pool, or garden pond;
- Washing vehicles or boats and all other outdoor water use.
When the water ban is lifted, a public notice will be posted on the Township’s website, sent to our email list, and shared on social media. Residents can subscribe to email updates at www.russell.ca/subscribe.
When the water tower is refilled, some residents may notice temporary discolouration in their water. If this occurs, let your tap run until the water clears.
