Important Update on Embrun Water Restrictions - June 11
The Township of Russell advises residents that water restrictions in Embrun will remain in effect until the end of August as the repairs required are more extensive than expected.
Without the water tower, the system is operating on just the reservoir. It is important that everyone does their part to reduce water use to ensure there is enough supply for all residents and for any emergencies, including fires. Residents are asked to use water only when absolutely necessary.
Outdoor water use remains limited as follows:
- Residents with odd-numbered addresses may water lawns on odd-numbered dates except between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
- Residents with even-numbered addresses may water lawns on even-numbered dates except between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
- The use of automatic sprinklers and pressure washing of driveways is not allowed.
- Please note that between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., the system does not receive water from the City of Ottawa. During this time, the supply relies entirely on the reservoir, which is why limiting water use is especially important.
These restrictions apply to residents of Embrun served by the Township of Russell’s water distribution system. This applies even when the water source is supplied by the City of Ottawa.
Once the restriction is lifted, an update will be shared on the Township website and through social media. If you have questions, please contact 613-443-1747 or email infrastructure@russell.ca.
