Recreation Coordinator

Position overview and requirements:

Under the direction of the Recreational Programming Manager, the Recreation Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to facility bookings and the operations of the sports dome, the bowling hall, ball diamonds and assisting with programming as required. The Recreation Coordinator leads and supervises employees including recruitment and selection, onboarding, training, performance evaluation and discipline (when required). Specifically, this position ensures adequate levels of staffing and scheduling, cleanliness and maintenance standards are maintained.

  • Develops and establishes efficient schedules to maximize revenue generated by facility rentals (field, indoor court, bowling, and baseball diamonds).
  • Identifies any emerging concerns and trends affecting users, gaps in service, opportunities for new programs/services, partnerships, etc.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with employees and user groups to ensure a high level of service.
  • Assists community groups according to their needs as required, such as the planning and implementation of special events.
  • Collaborates with the Program Coordinator in the design, development, promotion, and evaluation for seasonal programs (winter, spring, summer, fall) in response to community needs.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with community organizations, schools, and private sector partners to enhance program offerings and participation.
  • Responsible to recruit, interview, select and hire employees.
  • Assists in the preparation and management of approved operational budgets.
  • Ensures prompt handling of service requests and inquiries received from the public, clients and groups.
  • Provides safe and proper equipment, standard operating procedures, supervision and communication, current MSDS sheets, etc.

Language requirements:

Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of both English and French.

Compensation:

The salary, based on a 35-hour work week, is set between $73,504 and $91,749 per year and includes a comprehensive benefits package, a pension plan and free access to the gym at the Municipal Sports Dome

Accounts Payable Clerk

Position overview and requirements:

The Finance Department is seeking a motivated individual for the above-mentioned position.

  • Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst – Capital Planning, the Accounts Payable Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions related to accounts payable, including duties related to capital projects, leases, insurance, energy and building maintenance.
  • The Accounts Payable Clerk collaborates with various stakeholders, including vendors, internal departments, and finance team members, to facilitate the smooth functioning of the accounts payable process.
  • Further, responsibilities include providing reports to other departments for budget purposes.  This position will, from time to time, serve as backup to the Financial Analyst – Asset Management and will be required to provide customer service coverage at reception as needed
  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting and/or other related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience demonstrating a solid understanding of accounts payable processes, and responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions along with excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and to meet set deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and systems for accounts payable processing along with the Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Diamond software.

Language requirements:

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in either French or English.  Proficiency in the second official language a strong asset.

Compensation:

The salary is based on a 35-hour workweek and is set between $52,854 and $65,956 per year, and includes an excellent benefits package, a pension plan, and free access to the gym at the Municipal Sports Dome.

Positions overview and requirements:

Registered Early Childhood Educators under the supervision of the Daycare Manager are responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check - Vulnerable sector (within six months);
  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the center, children, families and co-workers;
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Joseph and St. Jean/La Croisée);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $26.30/hour and $29.60/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).
