Russell Centennial Pool - June to August

Assistant Supervisor, 18 years or older

 

Requirements:

  • Have and provide all current aquatic certifications.
  • First aid, CPR C.
  • National Lifeguard Service (NLS) and all instructor certifications.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record (18 years or older).
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The Assistant Supervisor salary is fixed between $19.53 and $22.12 per hour.

Admin Support - Pool, 18 years or older

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in office administration and/or customer service.
  • Knowledge of software and programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet.
  • Certification First Aid and CPR C.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record (18 years or older).
  • Bilingual.

Compensation:

The salary is fixed at $17.98 per hour.

Aquatics Coordinator

Position overview and requirements:

The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the leadership, operation, and ongoing success of the municipal aquatic facility within the new recreation complex. The facility includes a 6-lane, 25-metre indoor pool and a leisure pool offering a wide range of programs and services to meet the diverse needs of the community.

Reporting to the Recreational Programming Manager, the Aquatics Coordinator oversees all aquatic staff, including head guards, lifeguards, instructors, pool operators and support personnel. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, inclusive, and engaging aquatic programs while maintaining compliance with provincial legislation, industry standards, and municipal policies.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Post-secondary education in Recreation & Leisure Services, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Recreation and Sport Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in an aquatic environment, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing aquatic programs, staff scheduling, and facility operations.
  • Required Certifications: National Lifeguard (NL), Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor, Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
  • Aquatic Supervisor certification or equivalent leadership training, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Experience with budget preparation, expense tracking, and revenue monitoring.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, registration systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse aquatic staff team.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Customer service focused, with the ability to respond professionally to feedback and inquiries.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and community partners.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including responding to aquatic emergencies.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence (asset, if travel between facilities is required).

Language requirements:

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in both French and English.

Compensation:

The salary, based on 35 hours a week, is between $76,113 and $94,932 per year and includes an excellent benefit package, a pension plan, as well as free access to the Sports Dome Training Centre.

Positions overview and requirements:

Registered Early Childhood Educators under the supervision of the Daycare Manager are responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check - Vulnerable sector (within six months);
  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the center, children, families and co-workers;
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Joseph and St. Jean/La Croisée);

Compensation:

The salary is between $26.30/hour and $29.60/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).

Compensation:

The salary is between $21.56/hour and $24.27/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).
