Russell, Ontario – The 2025 Photo Expo took place on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Featuring over 120 of the 220 submitted photos, this event showcased the talent of 75 local photographers. Under the theme “Up Close and Personal,” participants captured unique and special moments within Russell Township.

Our Public Safety and Enforcement officers are issuing "Positive Tickets" to local youth for helpful actions, behaviour, and acts of kindness. Each “ticket” includes a gift card to a local business as a reward for being a great role model.

Intersection Improvement on Castor Street

Over the past few weeks, great progress has been made on the new recreation complex:
- Pool area: The walls of the new leisure pool have been poured, and crews are working on the pool’s piping systems.
- Arena building exterior: Masonry crews have finished the east and west facades of the rinks, as well as the north wall of the resurfacer area. Siding crews are now working behind the completed masonry.

Join us for an informative session and get a chance to try it for yourself! We will have balls on hand, but you are required to bring your own paddles. Come by on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sports Dome (150 Sportsplex Street, Embrun).
The cost is $10 per player and payable the day of at the reception of the Sports Dome. Maximum 16 participants per group.
