Pedestrian safety is important to you, and a priority for the Township.
As part of our projects in 2022, we are installing Tactile Walking Surface Indicators (TWSI) along our sidewalks and crossings within subdivisions. The 2022 Budget has $395,000 dedicated to this accessibility improvement project, which includes $20,000 for a new sidewalk.
A TWSI looks like a flat metal plate with raised bumps. You can feel the bumps under your feet or with an assistive cane, alerting of possible hazards. These...

We have officially removed Peter Russell as the honour of our namesake. Council chose that moving forward, rather than honouring one...

Follow-Up to the Township Building Leased to Brasserie Étienne Brulée
Posted on Thursday, January 27, 2022 12:21 PM
Office of the Mayor — January 27, 2022
Dear Residents,
In my statement on the Sale of the Building Currently Leased to Brasserie Étienne Brûlé on January 25th, 2022, I stated, "even offering to trade the building for a portion of the approximate 100 acres of land owned by the tenant on St-Guillaume Road near our industrial park".
Based on Mr. Ménard's response in the article of Le Droit today, (and after discussion with staff) I realize that I misunderstood what was precisely said between staff and...

Mayor's Statement on the Sale of the Township Building Currently Leased to Brasserie Étienne Brulée
Posted on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 11:07 AM
Office of the Mayor — January 25, 2022
Dear Residents,
I could go into in-depth details regarding the current situation of the Township owned building. However, I will keep my comments relatively short. Contrary to the one-sided article in the Review Newspaper, Township staff have been discussing in good faith with the tenant since the beginning of 2020 the different scenarios that could occur at the end of the December 31, 2020, lease; this is not new. Even though the lease ended, Township...
