We invite residents to fill out a survey to help shape the Township of Russell in 2025 and beyond. The purpose of this survey is to collect your feedback to inform the 2025 Draft Budget. Your feedback will be shared with Council as they discuss the 2025 Draft Budget.

Bowling Hall Reopens with a Fresh New Look

The lanes will reopen for public bowling on Friday, September 6, 2024! We will also have prolonged public bowl hours this Saturday, September 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

During the summer break, we took the opportunity to give the space a fresh new look. The bowling hall, located at 8 Blais Street below the Camille Piché Community Centre in Embrun, has been open since 1981. It is a well-known spot for residents to enjoy a friendly game or join a local league.

Relocation of the Embrun Public Library

The Township of Russell is pleased to announce that the Embrun Branch of the Public Library will be relocating. At the Council meeting on August 26, 2024, a decision was made to enter into an agreement with Embrun Co-op. The new library will occupy 5,000 square feet of the first floor of a new two-story building. The move is scheduled for Fall 2026.

Road Closure - Burton Road

  • When: Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 6:30 a.m. to Friday, September 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Where: Burton Road from Corduroy Road to 327m west of Corduroy Road.

Cooling Centres Open Thursday and Friday

National Drowning Prevention Week 2024

The Lifesaving Society designates the third week in July (July 21st to 27th, 2024) as National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW) to focus community and media attention on the drowning problem and drowning prevention.

This year, we are focusing on educating residents on non-fatal drowning. Non-fatal drowning is disproportionately impacting children in Ontario.
