Featured Business Profile in July 2022

Treat yourself with a delicious meal of homemade smoked meats! A few weeks ago, the Moonshine BBQ Smokehouse food truck set up shop on the grounds of the Tuque de Broue Brewery in the Embrun Business Park. Located at 189 Bay Street, you can eat a gourmet meal accompanied by their refreshing Moonshine Lager beer on the outdoor terrace. Slow cooking for up to 16 hours, on a mixture of maple, cherry and hickory, being rubbed with their signature spice blend, their menu offers a variety of smoked products, including chicken wings, beef brisket, pulled pork, poutine with their smokey home gravy, etc. In addition, every Wednesday ribs are now added to the menu. Each item served is prepared with passion and time. Did you know that the preparation, cooking and finishing of a smoked beef brisket can take up to 22 hours?

The owners, Caroline Facette and Fréderick Beaver, also own the other Moonshine BBQ Smokehouse restaurant located in Hawkesbury. Three years ago, they acquired the food truck after being repeatedly asked to become vendors at regional fairs and events. On July 6 (Morewood) and July 13 (Marionville) between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., Moonshine BBQ Smokehouse will be part of the Meet Me on Main Street community event. Come enjoy local bands, craft brews and delicious food!

As the Moonshine BBQ Smokehouse is still new in the community, the owners have several projects in the works that will further increase their involvement in the community, one of which is with the Embrun Co-op which is coming up in July. During the pandemic, the restaurant offered free meals to anyone who needed them. The owners believe in giving back to the community and developing partnerships with different associations and businesses. The Department of Economic Development is proud that Moonshine BBQ Smokehouse is joining our business community and wishes many accomplishments in the years to come.

We invite you to come and meet the team, including Amélie who will be serving up some delicious food. After all, she knows more about the secret recipes than the owners of the company. The food truck is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can also follow the business on Facebook and reach them at 613-794-6569.
